Fermenting Pears, Not Poire William, Unfortunately.

Short post today because our friends John and Adrienne from San Francisco are visiting. But last night as we were sitting outside, enjoying the best evening of the summer, the down side of a bumper crop of pears became apparent. The breeze gently wafted the smell of fermenting pears from the compost heap. Would much rather the windfall or squirrel-nibbled pears turn into Poire William than compost-liquor!

Now we're off to play with our friends.
